An alumnus of Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, Charles Clement received his MPA from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He has spent his career serving in leadership capacities for various Alaska-based organizations. Since 2012, Charles Clement has operated as the president and CEO of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Juneau.
Founded in 1975, SEARHC is a health consortium that provides a full range of health care and dentistry services through a network of clinics, medical centers, and hospitals. In addition to providing direct care, it promotes the overall health and well-being of Southeast Alaskans by offering various educational resources.
One of SEARHC’s most accessible educational resources is its blog, which features posts on a wide range of health topics. The blog posts are organized into four broad categories: Wisdom for Life, Take Care, Eat Well, and Community Stories.
Some of the most recent posts on the SEARHC blog focus on men’s health, secondhand smoke, breastfeeding, and vaping myths. Other recent posts feature healthy recipes and provide education on health issues such as hypertension.
Readers can also turn to the SEARHC blog for information on local health programs and community activities. Along with written posts, the blog includes videos and recorded interviews with physicians and other members of the SEARHC community.
