An accomplished Alaska healthcare executive, Charles Clement has serves as the president and chief executive officer of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) for the past seven years. Outside of work, Charles Clement supports charitable organizations including the Alaska Children’s Trust.
For more than 30 years, the Alaska Children’s Trust (ACT) has worked to prevent child abuse and neglect through various education and advocacy initiatives. As part of its mission to help children grow up healthy and happy, the ACT operates programs such as the Alaska Afterschool Network (ANN), the only statewide organization committed to increasing afterschool opportunities for children. Research shows that students who have access to safe afterschool activities do better in school, graduate at a higher rate, and report improved self-esteem.
ANN relies on grant funding to advocate for high-quality afterschool programming across the state, increase awareness of such programs’ impact, and influence public policy at local and state levels. For more information about ANN and the Alaska Children’s Trust, visit www.alaskachildrenstrust.org.
